A

Employers use a menu of predefined choices to create Offers, Goals, and Rewards. It is as simple as choosing a start date, end date, and category. The categories of Offers are Fitness-based, Nutrition based, and Education-based. Employee Benefits Corporation helps employers understand what they can expect to contribute to Balance Rewards. Through simple reporting, employers view participants’ progress toward achieving Goals.

Q

How does a participant achieve Offer Goals for physical activity?

A

Physical activity points are part of Fitness-based Balance Offers. By using a computer, mobile device, or wearable activity tracker, participants log activities to earn points. The Offer goal is met when the average points exceed a predefined point value for a specific timeframe.

Q

How does a participant achieve Balance Offer Goals for attending health events?

A

Participants can achieve this type of Education-based Balance Offer by attending a health or well-being educational workshop sponsored by the employer or the employer’s health plan. Q

What is an activity tracker and why would an employee choose to use one?

While some of these functions do not count towards Balance Offer Goals, they do provide insight into personal health.

Q

Are wearable activity trackers required to participate?

Q

How can I use my mobile device to help me purchase healthy foods?
